Create your own keyboard shortcuts
1. Foreword
Do you work a lot with keyboard shortcuts but have always missed an important one, or do you want to change the function of the “Copilot” key found on newer notebook models? Then use Microsoft PowerToys!
In the following example, we will assign the function of the Windows key to the Copilot key:

Note: If PowerToys are not installed on your computer, please contact IT Support.
2. Example: Re-assign Copilot key
Start the PowerToys application and in the menu, navigate to the Input/Output menu (1), go to the Keyboard Manager (2), and enable this option (3):

Then, under the Shortcuts section, click on the entry Remap a shortcut:

In the window that opens, click the Add a shortcut remapping button (1), a new entry will be added. Click the pencil icon (2) and then press the Copilot key. After confirming the input by clicking the OK button, select Key/Shortcut as the action (3) and set Win as the shortcut (4). Finally, confirm the change by clicking the OK button (5):

If you now press the copilot key, the action of the Windows key should be carried out, i.e. the Windows start menu will open. Of course, you can also assign a different action to this or any other key or key combination.
