Shrink pictures using Micorosft PowerToys Image Resizer
1. Foreword
If you frequently send image files via email, you should pay attention to the attachment size. This helps save storage space on the server and prevents delivery issues, as many recipients have size limits for email attachments. To reduce image size, we recommend using the free Image Resizer tool. This tool is part of Microsoft PowerToys and is installed by default on devices managed by Vega-IT. If the program is missing on your computer, please contact the Vega IT Service Desk.
2. Shrink pictures
Resize picture files is very easy: right-click on the image you want to resize and then select Rescale Images:

The following dialog window opens:

Select the size you want and then click Resize. By default, a reduced copy will be created in the same folder where the original image is located:

In the example, the file name of the original image is wallpaper1.jpg, the reduced copy is called wallpaper1 (Large).jpg due to the selected Large option.
If you move your mouse over one of the images, you can see the file size difference:

In the example, the original was reduced from 3.67 megabytes to 445 kilobytes (approx. 0.4 megabytes).
Of course, the compression process reduces the file in size and quality. So, to be on the safe side, open the reduced image file at the end and make sure that the copy created meets your requirements.
